Lucy, 21, chatted to Christine Lampard, Janet Street-Porter, Stacey Solomon, Anne Diamond and Janet Street-Porter about the “horrific” scenes that she’s been filming alongside Chris Harper; who plays her boyfriend Nathan Curtis.
Lucy’s 16-year-old character on the much-loved ITV soap has been groomed by Nathan in a gruesome sex ring plot, but although the actress admitted that her mother has been following the plot, it’s a different story for her boyfriend and her father.
When asked by the panellists about his thoughts on the whole thing, Tom – who was sat in the audience – said: “I don’t choose to watch it because I want to be as supportive as possible but I rely on the nation to tell me what a great job she’s doing.”
He then proceeded to put his head in his hands and refused to watch when a clip of Nathan taking a sexy photograph of Bethany before texting it to his friend and saying: “My go next.”
Speaking of whether or not she was nervous when taking on such a role, Lucy said: “I was really nervous because I’ve only been on the show for two years, it’s a big responsibility but as an actor it’s [a storyline] you want to sink your teeth into.”
After doing the interview and talking about the fact that it was important to highlight such an issue, Lucy was bombarded with praise by viewers on social media.
One person posted: “@loosewomen well done to lucy who spoke very well about a hard topic, young girls need to know the dangers.”
“@loosewomen great interview with Lucy Fallon, it happens more often and closer to home than people think,” a second shared.
A third wrote: “@lufallon you have been incredible talking about the storyline on @loosewomen.”
Loose Women continues tomorrow at 12.30pm on ITV.
